A sewing machine operator performs a variety of tasks which may include: operating the sewing machine, loading and unloading, loading and unloading of supplies, preparing and measuring materials, sewing different items, and completing reports.
Sewing machine operators work with sewing machines and a variety of materials to produce a variety of items.
They typically complete a variety of tasks, which can include:- Operating the sewing machine- Preparing and measuring materials- Sewing different items- Completing reports- Loading and unloading- Loading and unloading of supplies.
Sewing Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Operate, clean, and maintain sewing and embroidery machine, loading and digitizing files, and assembling garments
- Work with maintenance and production scheduling departments to repair and maintain the machines
- Track inventory to ensure supplies are sufficient and orders are accurate
- Assist in warehouse activities, including proper labeling, inventory counts, packing, and shipping
- Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in sewing areas, workroom, and warehouse
- Assist in garment assembly, cutting, and pressing
- Answer phones, make outbound calls, and greet clients
